Went to Melacca with my love one on last Saturday. We had a great time there and I've taken some shots.
Melacca (Melaka in Malay, Ma Liu Jia in Chinese Mandarin) is a historical town about 1 and a half hours driving distance away from Kuala Lumpur.

Getting Alive!

I can't remember when was the last time I update my blog, feel sorry to all my readers. Life is going too fast and I realize if I don't do anything about it now, I will be left far behind.

January 11 - It was an ordinary month, nothing that I can remember.
February 11 - Chinese New Year, ate a lot!
March 11 - Things started to change, I went for an interview in February and I have been told that I've got the job. It is a new environment but I have decided to give it a try, stepping out from comfort zone, something that I learnt during training :) I was preparing for my handover.
April 11 - It is a new chapter of my life! I went to Singapore for my new job and everything was just too new to discover.
May 11 - And it is May already, stepping into June! I am getting there!

Visit to Old Trafford

Being a United fan for more than 10 years it is a dream of everyone to visit Manchester United home ground, the theater of dreams.
Due to my recent business trip to UK, I grabbed a chance to went there and fortunate enough, I am able to watch the Carling Cup round 3 game between United and Wolverhampton. It was an awesome experience and huge excitement!

I took a tram from Manchester City center, heading to Trafford bar and from there, I took a short walk to the famous home ground for United.

LCCT Kopitiam - BANNED!

If you want to eat something in LCCT (AirAsia Terminal), don't go to the Oldtown kopitiam. Their service is simply horrible and unacceptable!

I went there with my gf last Sunday, sending her back to Singapore. While waiting to check in, we went to Kopitiam for dinner.

Here's the story:

1. Ordered the food - 2 Nasi Lemak Special, 1 Ice Coffee, 1 plain water.

2. Filled up the order sheet, no one is free to pick up the sheet, fine - I went to the counter and gave them the sheet.

3. Sit for 15 minutes, they gave me the sambal first, I was like "WTF?"

4. Another 5 mins, don't think my coffee is coming, the staffs were standing without doing anything, and the people who ordered after me was nicely enjoying their foods.

5. Went to the counter and questioned them, the lady is saying "on the way", then I asked her where's the coffee? She quickly get the staff to make it, left out the plain water.

6. Almost finished drinking the coffee, then I went to the kicthen and asked the staffs for the nasi lemak, bombarded them again.

7. Nasi lemak came in 3 minutes time.

8. Went to pay the bill, found they charged the plain water, told them I'm not having the plain water.

You have to know that there were not many customers at that time, there were 3 staffs for preparing drinks, 6 staffs for preparing the foods.

Sambal came first, without serving drinks and foods, you expect me to suck the sambal ah?

After that coffee came, where's my plain water???

Someone wrote this in table 50, which triggered my alertness and it is proven more than true.

So please BAN the OLDTOWN Kipitiam in LCCT!

FIFA World Cup Fever!

The game starts today and for the next 30 days, the whole world is crazy for that. So are you prepared for the fever? Managers, you will get people coming in late and dropping their productivity, or even worse - increased unplanned leave within the department.

Iphone Fever!

My colleague Dinesh just got his iphone recently, and he has started to spread the virus in the office. Installing apps, showing to some colleagues with technology challenge - and they all got excited and start buying iphone 1 by 1..

I was not really "in to it" when I got my iphone 8 months ago, but I've started to help Dinesh in spreading the virus.. hahaha. Explain to my colleagues how iphone works, how itunes works, how to get apps and sync with the phone.

So I'm going to post some cool apps review in my blog, and please share some with me should you have any nice one.

House Hunting

It was a cloudy Saturday and I'm going out to look for my dream house near Puchong area. Together with me were Dinesh and Alan. We first looking for some new development areas in Puchong Putra Permai. However, the price range from 360K to 600K outrun my budjet. Since when it is so hard to own a house??? Damn it!
Nevertheless, I managed to find out 2 affortable areas in Taman Puchong Prima.
Desa Indaman and the condominium nearby.

Here we go, this is Desa Indaman, a five stories resort type apartment:

It was nice and the selling points are the resort feel and the private water theme park.

As you can see it is almost complete. It was too late for us because the price has increased for about 50k in just 6 months! Somemore the lower units are all sold out and the only choice I have is just the fifth floor unit, which I have to climb the staircase everyday to get back.

RM 260k+ after 10% rebate from developer.

After Manila > Singapore > Kuala Lumpur now I am already in Chennai, India. Well before I come to India, many of my friends told me that you have to come India at least once in your life. Now I know why they said that. This is really a poor land, most probably impoverished by corruption or whatever reason that they should not have it. I guess after this visit, my value will definitely changed...

As Malaysian India is not something new to us - we have Indian as one of our biggest group. Somehow, it is a huge different when I touched the ground and breathe the air in India.
The traffics here are horrible, people are driving like mad and aggressive looks like they are rushing for their life. Everywhere are full of smashed tiles and broken bricks like they have been bombarded for years. Inside the hotel and outside is 2 worlds.

Is Apple Going to Change the World Again?

This is not something new for this type of machine, but there is no sign of success over 20 years. Now, Apple is trying to go for it by introducing their latest machine - ipad.

To me this is a bigger version of iphone or ipod, I have already predicted Apple is going to build this, following by their great success of launching iphone/ipod. FYI, around 7m iphone was sold ;) and I have 1 of those.

For me the price is not over tagged, so I think they should be able to hunt the targetted market down - $499 per ipad. The only dissapointment is no webcam, which I believe they are going to split the peripherals out to reduce the cost.

Maligayang Pagdating sa Manila

Yo Yo Yo! My another business trip, and this time is to Makati City, Manila in Philippines!

I took the Singapore Airline this time, and the trip was just 4 hours (1 hours to SG, 3 hours to PH) which is a relief to me comparing to other trips.

Picture says a thousand words, so go for it!

High Fat Level

Went to have the body composition analyzer.. not too good, my fat level is still high.
I'm planning to cut it down to 15% first, then lower again.

Result:
BMI: 23.6
Fat: 23.5
BMR: 1516kcal
Fat mass: 15.3kg

I need to get my fat level down man! learnt few useful skills from the trainer,
and I'm going to apply!

Pokai at Fitness First

Damn it, no one has ever done this to me, but Alex you did it.

I've joined Fitness First for 2 months and I really fully utilized it gao gao,
go 4-5 days per week, except last week where I was sicked.

To me, the personal trainer looks like tipu makan type, and dude - my body is better then them, so I didn't give a shit about the free training session. Intro to machines, teach you how to eat properly.. all doesn't sound good to me.

Until today, I met Alex the PT. Alex PT graduated in sports science, he asked me what's my aim as usual, and my goal is toning.

So he ajar me gao gao.. really gao where I was given an advanced training.

First was leg press where my normal weight is 80-100kg.
We went for 5 sets: 20(50kg) 15(100kg) 10(150kg) 4(200kg) 12(100kg)

I was almost fainted! Coz I thought today's session will be light and easy,
so I went for 30 mins cardio without having my dinner.

Then I went squat 70kg X 15, 120kg X 8

Then he shown me the functional training (push up, close grip push up, love shape push up.. bla bla..)

I was completely burned out.. and lying down like a dead fish!

Walaoeh.. this is the training that I want!

Dare to London - Episod II (Carnaby Street, Covent Market, Chinatown)

When I woke up it was already 12pm. My buddy Him took me to a restaurant nearby to have "breakfast" and it was the first time I was having a all english breakfast, yummy! After the quick meal we then dressed up and following Hin's uncle to the train station. When we reached London it was already 2pm. First we have a quick glance at the famous Carnaby street while walking to meet another friend. It is really different when you have a tour guide. Our first destination was Chinatown and we have another meal there :) So let's take a walk!

This is the place where I stayed, nice house and very "English" style :)

向梦想出发！伦敦游记 - 1 (Dare to London - 1)

伦敦，大不列颠帝国的首都，曾经是那么不可一世的世界中心，是我向往的其中一个地方。如今趁着公干的机会，加上好朋友的照应下，胆粗粗的就从荷兰阿姆斯特丹飞了过来。之前搜索了少许资料，本以为火车会便宜，怎知道算来算去还是要我两百大欧元。还是我在荷兰的同事提点我坐飞机，时间短而价钱更便宜，才135欧元。我立即就订了机票，向梦想出发！

London, the capital city of United Kingdom and once upon a time was the centre of the world is always in my wish list to travel there. However due to the restriction it is not easy to enter UK. But this time I have taken the opportunity of my business trip to pay her a visit! Thanks to my buddy to offer me accommodation :) First I was thinking of taking train to London, but Eurostar is not cheap at that time. Furthermore, the trip will take longer time. My colleague in Amsterdam told me to look for the cheap flight ticket from Easyjet. I couldn't believe my eye when I saw the price - €135 return flight! Without hesitation I booked the flight and fly to my dreamland!

我成搭九点早上的班机，抵达伦敦Stansted机场时才九点十分（时差啦！）。我要帮我的一个同事找个地方落脚然后我们才四处去逛，所以我们先乘搭巴士到BakerStreet。由于之前工作繁忙，无暇找齐资料，就打算到最著名的景点看看，然后傍晚才去跟我的朋友回合。

I took the early flight at 9am, and when I reached London Stansted airport it was only 10 mins past. This is due to the 1 hour time different. The flight took about 1 hour and 10 mins. I need to get a hostel for my another colleague who joined me so we took the A6 bus to Baker street. I was quite busy working before this and did not have sufficient time to survey around. So my first destination in London was to the famous British Museum, then only meet up with my buddy at night.

The museum close at 5:30pm so we went out for our dinner, then took the underground again to London Bridge..

博物院在大约五十三时分就关闭了，我们只好离开去祭我们的五脏庙。之后我们就去另外一个景点，伦敦大桥！

The bridge is very beautiful.. really worth to visit London!

真的是不虚此行，这伦敦大桥是在是太美丽了。

After that I took the Underground to Liverpool Street, and took train to my buddy's place.

We have a long chat at that night! We will meet up with another good friend tomorrow! Yeahhhh

大约光了两个多小时，我就去找我的好友了，得知另外一个好友也在伦敦，大家就决定明日一起逛！异地重逢实在是太开心了。

I Amsterdam - Part IV (Red Light District)

You all have seen the shiny part of Amsterdam, nice weather, beautiful scenery, cool buildings. They all are just matching the capital city of Holland. However, do you know about the dark side of Amsterdam? Hehehe... I am going to bring you there and expose you to the city of freedom.

If you are not aware of it, Marijuana (Weeds) is legal in Holland.. so as prostitution. Every weekend, youngsters from other European countries came down to Amsterdam for some excitements and entertainments which they will never get in their countries. For me I believe if everything is under control then everything is safe. Amsterdam is one of the most peaceful place that I known. You won't see people fighting outside the bars, no youngster making joke of Asian people.. it is not what I thought before - everything is just ... relax!

Coffeeshop in Amsterdam is not the actual cafe to drink afternoon tea. This is the place to sell weeds and special cake. Customers are only allowed to smoke weeds inside. Coffeeshop is everywhere in Red light district.

So here we are! This area is not far from city centre and obviously it is the main attraction point for tourist - Red Light District. Those prostitutes was standing at the back of the neon light room "Red Room" and waiting for business.

Live sex show? Peep show? Erm... you have can it all in red light district.

Look at this, attractive neon light and manager is standing outside to invite tourist for the show. It will cost you like 12-15 Euro.

Peep show, it is like a room with small hole for you to peep the lady inside the room.. satisfying your lust.. legally ;)

Look at the amount of people passing by in the evening. Most of them are tourists.

You can get some "tools" here if you want something "special" with your partner.

It is getting darker and darker, but the life in red light district is just about to start. Night is still young...

These red rooms are all business area for prostitutes. Business is quite good on Saturday night.

For your info, different colour of light indicates different type of services. Red is normal, Blue is transsexual.. so check carefully before you get embarrassed.. lol!

It is worth to visit the Red Light District, you can call Amsterdam the city of freedom, city of sin, or paradise.. it is up to you. Well worth to see such an area with so much of things that we will not accept however everything is under great control.

For your last info - Holland government is slowly shutting down the red light district.. so if you want to visit, make it earlier!

After get out from Heineken Brewery then I headed to another attraction point. Hard Rock Cafe Amsterdam. Not a big fan but feel nice to visit. So I was walking walking and walking. Thanks to the chill weather and scenery there, I feel walking is something nice!

River is everywhere in Amsterdam.

Rijks Museum, I didn't stand a chance to visit it.

On my right is a pub and this is actually an area with people eating, enjoying sun light. Sun light to them is like snow to us in Malaysia!

The building design is very special, not sure what it is.

Look at the people here, it is Saturday afternoon and this is their lifestyle.

I was a bit lost...

Finally, this is the place that I wanted to go.

This is the new section of the museum but they have not open to public yet.

I bought a ticket and it costed me €12.50 to visit.

Another photo of the museum. Due to the restriction of taking photo inside the museum I was only able to view it with my eyes. Wonderful masterpieces from van Gogh, it was really a great visit!

After spending couple of hours inside the museum, I went for my dinner.

I Amsterdam - Part II (Heineken Brewery)

I decided to visit Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam this Saturday. Heineken, the official sponsor for UEFA Champions League is a Dutch beer and it is common in Malaysia.

So let's start the experience!

I took a Tram near my hotel to get there(Of course I did some research la..)

It taken me about 20 minutes then I almost reached.

I get down from Centrumring, it is a roundabout for Tram, cool right?

A little bit further down the road will be the destination.

Here you go, now you know how hard to remember the Dutch street name right?

This area has some other tourist attraction spots such as Rijks museum, Hard Rock cafe and Diamond factory.

Heineken Brewery... wooo inside sure got a lot of Beerssssss, yummy!

This Brewery is still operating, and they open a portion to public.

This is the entrance of the Heineken Experience Shop. The entrance fee is €12 (RM 60)

So with €12 you will get a tag, and 2 beers! A cup of beer in Amsterdam's pub cost you €3 so the entrance fee is actually €6! Good deal man.

These are the overall activities in the brewery.

They used horses as transport to distribute the barrels before introducing motor vehicle.

I keep walking and went to the welcome lobby where there is a large projectile TV introduction Heineken from beginning till now.

Mr. Heineken, he looks like the founder of Heineken beer.

After that there is a room showing all the old beer bottles.

If you are alcoholic then you got a bigger bottle!

WOBO bottle? This look like medicine bottle man.. hahahaha

This is the wooden box to store bottles of beer and distribute to all bars.

Horses.. no no they are not using them anymore :)

They keep changing the beer's bottle label as time move on.

After that, I went to the next section which will be an interesting learning - The making of Heineken beer.

This is a room with all the ingredients to make beer and there is a staff explaining the whole brewing process.

Staff: "So alcoholics, do you know what you are actually drinking huh?"

Malts, hops and yees will be the special formulated one to distinguish from other beers.

Trust me, they don't smell good.

Look at this shit inside, would you believe you will drink this?

So let me try.. ermmm

The taste is like barley.. haha

After that they will put the shit inside this big bronze brewing machine... and wait.

When that machine does not exist, they will hire you to manually "brew" it.

Inspection process... here you can pay €5 to purchase a bottle of Heineken with your name!

Bottle your own! Your name will appear right at the bottom.

After that a staff taught us how to taste the beer.

Girl, you should take larger sip to taste it!

Then I was here.. it's football time! Very nice show room with TV surrounding it...

and James Bond will drink together with you.

I Amsterdam - Part I

I was really excited when I knew I'm going to Amsterdam, the capital city of Holland. The best part is I will stay there for 2 weeks. It was a wonderful trip and I have met a lot of nice people over there. Here's the pics and I will keep posting them. Too many photos to share :)

I took KLM direct flight to Amsterdam and it was about 13 hours in the plane itself, phew.. really driving me mad. However everything is well worth after I have landed in Amsterdam. Chill weather (15-16 Degree), nice buildings and scenery!

People over there are very friendly and helpful. They are very willing to speak English and all of them can speak fluent English. Just the straats (Dutch) name are very hard to remember because it is too long and hard to pronounce. However, you should not find any issue travelling around Amsterdam city because the transportations are highly efficient and very convenient.

In Amsterdam they offer Train, Ferry, Metro, Tram, Bus and even Bicycle. You can have your own choice but if you want to have good view of Amsterdam, take the Tram. There are 24/48/72/96Hours ride card to suit your requirement and you can use 1 card to take Metro, Tram and Bus unlimited within the period. I bought weekly pass for 25 Euro (RM 125).

Stepping into end of second week, and again it does not look promising!
Maybe I got a bit lazy towards end of the week..

Tuesday - Shoulder + triceps + 5km + abs
Wednesday - back and leg (Heavy Squat) + abs
Saturday - Chest + biceps + abs

The weight is back to my usual weight, and I was managed to carry more weight on Saturday.
I believe that's working because my chest is still feeling pain now!

Week 3 workout plan will be more extreme!

Not so Exclusive - Police Pursuit in Pandan Indah (18SG)

"When I was at home this morning suddenly I heard a loud tyre sound at about 8:15am. Out of curiosity I went out to take a look - there was a Proton Iswara overtook a Proton Wira while the wira was turning in from Pandan Indah way. However Proton Wira did not stop and he bang the Iswara at the back then running away. The car was turning out to Pandah Indah way at the opposite site. Those cars were quite shock and they all let the Wira go. Iswara made a U-Turn in front of Ampang Hospital to chase that Wira, following by a Kancil with loud siren.. I heard accident sounds all the way. After about 30s, there were 3 Police Cars joining the pursuit and after a short while, I heard a loud accident sounds at the junction. There were 7 police cars surounded all the cars there and they did not let anyone leaving the scene, and I saw many policeman rushing to the crowds with firearm. I cannot miss it so I took my bike and went there to check around. When I reached the scene, I found a Honda Accord and that Proton Wira involved in a major accident. I believe the suspect failed to escape due to the traffic jam and he was caught by police and sitting inside the policecar. He was at around 30s, and was bleeding. Next to him was a chinese guy with a hammer.. after looking for few minutes, I managed to chat with the owner of the Honda Accord, who is the chinese guy with hammer. According to him, that suspect was a robber and he has tried to get him for quite some times. Suspect tried to escape at the beginning but the Chinese guy is actually a tow truck call man so with his broad network, he managed to get his colleages to join the pursuit. They found some equipments in the suspect's car and believe he was using those gears for crime. After a while Police has started to clear the traffic so I went back and posted this to forum."

Based on the video provided, I saw some gangsters were trying to pull the suspect out from the car, and hit him with hammer at his head. Police are there and they actually "allowed" them to do so. What a shame!

Race.Rally.Research (R3)

Race.Rally.Research is a sports division from Proton, known as Proton R3. It was a branding strategy to attract publicity from media to show the world that Proton is able to have some sort of developments in Motorsports. The head of R3 is the well known Malaysia drift king Tengku Djan. The first "product" was actually a modified Satria GTi with the only original design: Blood Stripe Sticker and it was selling at RM 70k. I think whoever bought the car must be out of his mind. Over the year it has failed to introduce more powerful parts apart from the emblem, exhaust system, bodykits... and now it has gone, I have no longer receiving any news from R3 for any new performance parts.

However I must say that the introduction of Satria Neo R3 is the most beautiful one among all the local models, and it is really powerful in track - I have seen it and race with it during an open track day in Sepang circuit. Surprisingly they did not defend their title in the 2009 MME...

Since this is only the wake up call to my muscles so I don't really hit them hard.
I injured my shoulder last month before I went US - it was really pain!

Visit to Shell Penzoil Tower

We went to Houston Downtown Shell Penzoil Tower for a business meeting on last Friday. Thanks to Paul for fetching me and Eddie to Downtown. We notice that actually Houston has a big tunnel and they are a lot of restaurants and shops! Lucky that we didn't miss it. After a walk we reached the Penzoil tower. Shell took over the tower after they bought Penzoil into their group. Here we are, it has 2 towers, which is North Tower and South Tower and they are really special - it looks like 2 triangle buildings.

There is a piramid a like glass sheild to cover both towers.

We met up with Tammy and her colleages to makan first, it was afternoon and we need some energy to continue our day. We walked to another street to have a nice lunch over there.

The restaurant is in a church.. wow..

Paul purposely brought us to this meeting room to show it special it is. The meeting room was built at the edge of the building and showing the beautiful scenes from both sides.

and further until you reached the edge. Wow.. can you see that? It is amazing to have such view in the meeting room. I wonder how they can get concerntration in the meeting..

Phew.. it is really scary to those who are afraid of height.

Our meeting ended at 5pm, then we decided to go for a walk in Downtown.

There is a nice small place for people to take a rest and enjoying the view.

Monster: Chevy Corvette

I never know Chevy is such a great brand that can build this type of super car, until I've seen it. This is a car with 6.2L V8 430hp supercar: Chevy Covette.

It does not look like a muscle car.

It looks small.

It is powerful.

This is the kind of car that you can take your chick and hanging around at the downtown pub area ya!

The front of the car, aerodynamic and very Italian look.

It has the classic round tail lights that most sports car has it, and not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 mufflers! Imagine how nice the sound will be when starting the engine?

Rear look for the Chevy Corvette, not to mention the big ass wheel.

From the side it looks a bit like Lotus shape, but it has its own style if you look at the vents from the door side. Cool and purely sporty!

PROTEST: Malaysia examines Internet Filtering?

I just read this news from Reuters. It is quite a big shocking to me as Malaysia Barisan National Government is throwing another big stone to the water of democracy. As a faithful supporter of the opposition I understand the reason why the Government are planning to do so: To block and filter the message from opposition. On last Saturday, Malaysia Royal Police has arrested nearly 600 protesters in the capital city Kuala Lumpur for the rally of banning Internal Security Act (ISA). Will this be the next aggressive step that Barisan National Government is taking? According to the news in Reuters it seems might be true:

"Submissions are to be handed in by July or August. About four groups have tendered for this project," the source said.

This Internet filtering process is similar to the abandoned China "Green Dam" project, and if this happened - it will be the greatest failure to a so called "Democratic" Monarchy Country. Are you trying to follow the policy from a Communist country? This is another careless decision made by the ruling government, again.

Under the name of liberalism, I strictly protest the policy to filter internet content in Malaysia!

In 8th, March 2008, the greatest failure to the ruling government and its Alliance parties Barisan National where they lost the majority in the parliament and dominant in 5 states. At that time, the opporsition party fully utilized the resources over the Internet to advertise their propaganda to the nation.

Ford Mustang GT

Classic, classic, classic. It is the classic American muscle car with fame on it. Ford Mustang GT, a car built by the founder of modern car: Ford. All of us has watched Transformer, and the Police car from Decepticon definitely was a flash in the movie, yes it is a Ford Mustang GT. These pictures are taken from Houston Richman Avenue, where Ford Mustang is pretty common here. The biggest different between the Mustang and GT version is the engine (V6 and V8), and the power of course. It was a great pleasure to see it on the road, hear the roaring from the engine by myself - it is damn fierce and the shape is very nice.

Look at the classic Mustang logo and the intake nose on top of the bonet.

It really looks like a cobra snake if you see in details.

I went to Galleria, a big shopping center in Houston. Just entered the main entrance and this beautiful car is right in front of me. This is the first time I saw this car maker called Saturn, and this is their sports car: Saturn Sky, what a name and I believe with the specification it can shoot you up high to the blue sky. Powered by 2.0L turbocharge engine the max horsepower is 260@5300rpm. This is awesome for an American car where you seldom see such "low" cc. Their philosophy is more to like Lotus where they are more concerntrating on power to ratio. To my surprise, it is actually a division under the big name General Motor (GM), and it is the biggest customer for my company, EDS...

Nice roadster and the aerodynamic shape is absolutely solid.

The tail light is sharp and fierce looking, with squarish twin mufflers plus the rear diffuser which is the current trend for sports car.

Projectile head light in front, it has all the trendy fassionable items with her.

The steering is not that nice to hold, plus it is a left hand drive and the transmission is Aisin 5-speed manual close-ratio with self-adjusting clutch Manual. Not bad huh.

Feel statisfied to see such a nice car!

That's 100% original Levi's 511 Skinny. I am not sure how much is in Malaysia but 2 words: Damn cheap! After the tax and convertion rate is around RM150, which is at least Rm100 cheaper. They have Levi's 501 at $39.90 as well.

Wanna get it? Come U.S, things are really worth buying here.

There are some nice NIKE shoes where you cannot see it in Malaysia.

Long Long Limos

They are called Limousines or Limos, which is a type of passenger cars that booked by people for attending ceremony or party.

A Snapshot in Houston Downtown

Since this is our first weekend in Houston, we decided to go downtown to feel the city. Lucky enough, the place where we are staying has a train station to go downtown, just need to pay $1.25 and you can go all the stops that you want. We reached downtown at 6pm, and found everyone is leaving the city.. wtf? Actually in western country their city is closing at 5-6pm. We stop at the main street and start walking without any direction.

This street is still "breathing" after we keep walking and searching around.

A church in the city, old but match the theme well.

Saw a clock at the traffic light.

This is a clock tower where it is still running by the old mechanism, without battery.

This is a street with some bars, during our walk we found out there are a lof of shops have been close down. We never know the economy downturn hit US so badly until we saw it.

This is nice bar with good view of the street, but where is the people?

More bars on the streets, just not enough smell of people.

I guess the fast food culture is everywhere in US, because you can see McDonald's, Subway and some Pizza shops almost everywhere.

I guess this is the tallest tower in Houston, JPMorgan Chase Tower.

It is this tall.. according to a German tourist, you can have a full view of Houston downtown here. Unfortunately it is closed when we reached there.

This is the train we are talking about, it is clean and nice. A police was standing in the train and checked our tickets when we came to downtown.

We stop at the Pizza shop, and have a Corona then went back to uptown.

Papasito Mexicano

We decided to go for Mexican food today, and there is one nearby, so here it is: Papasito, a famous mexican restaurant in uptown.

The waiter handed me the menu once we sit down, the menu looks like a mars language to me man, really don't understand what it means. Hunter explained to me and I decided to have Fajitas as my lunch, I ordered "small" and here it is:

Pure American Muscle - Dodge Challenger SRT

When I went down to the hotel suddenly saw an American muscle car. At first sight I thought it was a Chevy Camaro (watch too much of Transformer) but it is a Dodge Challenger SRT, which is an American muscle car powered with 425hp 6.1L V8 engine... man it is really beautiful and you really cannot see anyone of this in Malaysia. I quickly run to my room and grab my camera to take few pics of it, and you see it.

Sorry I didn't bring the tripod so it is a bit blur, but this is the clearest one.

Lunch at Joe's Crab Shack

My colleague John brought Eddie and myself out for lunch at Joe's Crab Shack, which is a very stylish seafood restaurant. Everything is big in US, especially food. I ordered Sunset Fire Grilled, which is a seafood pot with Alaska King Crab, prawns, sweetcorn and potatoes. It is really tasty and spicy, which made me full for that day.

Moscow > Houston > Get stucked!

After the long 10 hours flight we landed at Moscow airport. It is only 18C even it is summer, what a nice place. I did not spend much time there because the stopover was just about 2 hours. I am heading to Houston then.. very tiring journey.

The airport is not very big, just look like a domestic airport.

I was looking at my flight's schedule, where is English.....?

After get on the Boeing 777 big bird, sit in economic class seat for another 10 hours (nightmare), I arrived in Houston. Predictable, the national security officer stopped me at the entrance and asked for another screening, which took me 2 hours to complete the whole process.

First they placed me in a room with other unlucky foreigners, mostly from east Europe or third world country, until they called my name, then I need to fill up a form where the information has been filled up for more than 4 times - it is Special Registration where I have to declare for leaving United States. After some questionaires finally I entered U.S!

I reached SpringHill Suites by Taxi, I really exhausted to find another way of reaching the hotel. Guess how much it cost me? $60 which equal to RM 210 for 30 minutes drive.

It is summer, it is hot.

You won't think of other stuffs once you see this.. z Z Z!

sorry if this is not something new to you because this is my first time boarding in KLIA.

My flight departed from KLIA at 8:30pm and arrived Singapore Changi Airport at 9:30pm. The next flight will be at 2:20am so I have to stay for couple of hours here. Thanks God I brought my laptop with me to pass time.

This will be the last part for performance topic, most of the Satria Neo owners are not satisfied with the power output, it is just lack of power even the stock engine is 110hp. After some times, Satria Neo with performance engine slowly appears - the most common and "user friendly" engines for Proton cars are 4G92 MIVEC and 4G93T GSR Turbo. Unfortunately there is a restriction for local car where we cannot upgrade to 2.0L engine, so considering a 4G63T engine is illegal.

4G92 MIVEC
For our Neo you have to get the "reverse" version which is the MD version. This is a 1.6L N/A engine, with Variable Valve Timing technlogy which is similiar to VTEC engine. Due to high demand, the price for 4G92 halfcut is very high - RM 8000 - RM 9000 depends on the condition and mileage. The installation is straight forward - you are not required to change engine mounting.

Why they are all Mitsubishi engines? This is because of the history of Proton, the Proton wira series is actually a rebadge from Mitsubishi Lancer back to 90s and almost all Mitsubishi parts can be used for our National car, until Proton GEN2 where Proton started to design their own model. Till now, Mitsubishi engine is still a hot choice.

There are some other engines for your consideration also, for example the Toyota Silver top / Black top 20 valves 1.6L engine, or even Honda B series engine.

Started as an third party contractor in Shell, until I passed the assessment to become a Shell Staff, until Shell outsourced Shell IT to EDS, until EDS has been acquired by HP to become EDS, an HP company, I have never think about the possibility to go oversea for business trip - until I got my US visa. There will be at least 3 weeks in US for this trip - My work is to bring the service back to Malaysia. When my business manager offer this role to me, I have no hesitation to say yes. Not for the sake of having fun in oversea, what I am looking for is the challenge of this role. EDS Request Management - a growing team with a lot of opportunity, is recruiting. Ops... not yet, haven't tell you guys how I got it. After the Interview in US embassy last week, the officer informed me that I am going to wait for a week. On last Friday, they gave me a call and ask me to hand my passport for the visa. So I went to the embassy again on Monday morning, then went to KL once again to collect my passport. The pickup point is in Wisma MCA, 19th Floor.

My last piece of advice, before you plan anything, go get your visa first!

I was shock when I saw my colleague's car tyres are nearly flat and she think it is ok...
In fact, most people are trying to get the cheapest tyre when they are changing tyres. Well I do agree that changing 4 tyres are quite costly because normally you gotta pay for like RM600 and above. Think about this, tyres are the only part in the car that is touching the ground. Good tyres can save your life!

I am going to discuss about tyres, and how should you choose a set of good tyres.

Brands
They are some famous tyre manufacturer such as Yokohama, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Michelin and our local brand: Silverstone. However, Brand does not matter - each brand has their lowest grand of tyres until the flagship tyres. So it is kind of stupid if you are comparing Goodyear NCT5 with Silversone FTZ, you must know the class of tyres first.

Normal driver will have economical tyres in their mind, such as NCT5, MY01 and so on, but this type of tyres are mean for daily drive - it's gonna risk your life if you are aggressive on the road.
So, know yourself before knowing the tyre.

They are standard daily drive tyres, performance tyres, luxury car tyres and the 4X4 tyres. Please remember, you need more grip on the road means the tyre won't last long because it will be soft. The harder it is, the longer it last, the lesser its grip.

This is the standard tyre, because you can see the tread compound is quite small - good to drain water while raining but less grip on dry road.

This is an example of a performance tyre, there are only 2 major drain in design and the compound is bigger comparing to the first one. More grip on dry road, good draining on wet road as well - so it is a choice for those who like to drive fast. High performance tyre where you can have normal drive on the road and also go racing on track.

This is a type of semi slick tyre, which is for competition purpose only. If you notice, the compound is bigger than the previous model, which will touch the ground more, but the handling will become nightmare if it is raining.

This is the ultra one, it is totally flat and it is a full slick performance tyre, where normally people will use for drag car to have maximum grip while launching. Don't think you can use it on a wet road.

Tyre Size
There are various size for tyres, for example 13 inches, 14 inches which are the diameters, 55%, 60% which is the thickness of the tyres as well as 195mm, 205mm which is the tyre width. For ease of reading normally it will be like this: 15/195/55 which is a 15inches tyres with 195mm width and 55% of thickness. Tyre go expensive when it become bigger, thinner or width size is bigger. For example, a standard tyre for 15inches will be 15/195/55, if it is 15/205/60 then it will be more expensive. Same goes to those like 17inches or 18inches tyres.

Tyre pressure
Some people tend to overlook this, and this is important for handling and fuel saving. You will have the desire tyre pressure for your car in the booklet or a sticker showing near your door. If your tyre is flat then more surface is touching the road and you will pay for your fuel. Normal tyre pressure for passenger car should range from 30psi to 34psi, depending on tyre size where more pressure on front tyres. For competition purpose sometimes it can go up to 40psi to minimize understeer when take corner.

Performance tyres that I have used:
Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 - my first high performance tyre, which has excellent control on dry but bad handling while the road is wet. Tyres went out of tread easily.
Goodyear Eagle F1 - The handling is good on wet road but the grip is out when dry.
Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin Re001 - The best I have ever used, excellent control on dry and good control on wet - the draining system is very well done. Very stable in high speed.

Remember: Good tyres come with price, and it is priceless if it can save your life.

Manchester United Training Session

Thanks to SK I got 4 admission passes for Manchester United Training Session on 17th July in Stadium Bukit Jalil which is our national stadium. If you don't know - I am a big fans of Manchester United since I was 16 :) This will be the first time I see them live in action besides watching them playing via TV.

Manchester United, 3 times Premier League in a row and this coming season defending champion, has chosen Malaysia as their first location for Asia Tour. Unfortunately they have cancelled their visit to Indonesia because of the terrorist attack.

I went together with Harsh, Dinesh for the training session. Not to mention how jam the traffic was when we reached the stadium, but it is all well worth when I got to see all the big guns in the field. Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Darren Flecther, Dimitiar Berbatov, Patrick Evra all showing up, plus the new signing Micheal Owen, who has just been assigned with the magnificent number 7.

The stadium was 50% full, which I think there were more than 5o,000 people inside and the atmosphere was really fantastic. We spent about an hour there and left at 7pm, stuck in jam for 1 hour just inside the stadium, and reach office at 9pm.

It was tiring but hey, you gotta feel this at least once!

Visit to US Embassy + How to apply US visa

I will have a business trip all the way to United States on this weekend, but it has been posponed due to I don't know what reason. Let's check out the entire process then you will know how hard it is going to apply an US visa.

Process to apply a non-immigrant visa (For vacation or business visit):
1. Go to any of the Alliance Bank branch and pay RM 532 (non-refundable) for processing fee.
2. Once you got the resit, wait till the next day and go to VFS where you'll need to:
Schedule an appointment with the embassy
Fill up at least 1 form (DS-156) and DS-157 if you are males between age 16 and 45
3. Snap a US Visa standard photo and attached to DS-156
4. You are right to go, with below items:
- Appointment letter
- Passport (carry all your previous expired passports)
- DS-156 / DS-157 form
- Receipt of Alliance bank payment

then it depends on your trip, for mine is a business trip so I have the supporting document from my company, and a payslip indicates that you are working there.

For holiday purpose, make sure your bank statement is there and have shown a good amount of money flowing in consistently, and some others where you'll need to refer to the website given.

My case is straight forward, but the officer told me to wait for a week to have my VISA ready, even it has been approved. According to him, it is pretty routine for such arrangement - so I have to wait for another week and I need to re-schedule my flight.

Lesson? Don't do such thing in last minute, assuming it can be done in a day.

Perak Drift Show 2009

It was a 2 days events where they have time attack (Autocross) on Saturday and Drift challenge on Sunday. I joined the time attack competition and surprisingly grabbed the champion for Class D (Open Class)! It was my first trophy of my journey in motorsports. I am really happy with it.

As usual, we went for the course walk after the registration and soon after we have 2 rounds of practice sessions. After the practice session, then we have 3 heats to get the best timing.

I managed to clock 41:09s for my first run in Class B, which is the best timing for heat 1. It is really unbelievable when I found out my timing! The second fast timing is 2 secs slower than my timing - how can you believe man!

Furthermore, I clocked 43:03s for my heat in Class D, which is again the fastest in that class, until we completed the second heat - I was leading in Class C and was second in Class D, including the best timing for that day.

Things become more interesting after the lunch, I was not able to renew my record in class B, but I did the best run in Class D where I managed to reduce my timing to 40:93s - the best timing so far in all class, until Azmie made a strong strike back to grab the best timing for that dau - 40:00s! Congrat to Azmie and the powerful Civic EG VTEC :)

So the final result - I won in Class D and was second in Class B.
It is really my day because I just want to participate and learn more from the others, maybe my pet - Satria Neo wanted to challenge them.. lol

I hope can do better in the coming event!

Paintball / Painball? Yeoooow!

I was on vacation for a week, and I decided to go Parit Bundar to join my buddy Tan, Chean, Siang, Jeffrey for paintball game. I wanted to join this for quite some times but don't have any kaki.. here come the chance and I grabbed it!

When there to stay for a night and enjoy the food there - it is really delicious!

The next day we went for the event, surprisingly many of the them wore like soldiers - full gear up with uniform, kevlar, gloves... wow! Some of them wear like a special force, coooooool!

We played few rounds and all of them were on different spots - it just like counter strike where we have different map - small, medium and as large as a jungle! It was pretty scary to battle in a jungle where I hardly can see enemies due to their uniforms. When I saw them they are already in very close range - fire in the spots! I pull the trigger and fight bravely!

Got shots for few times during the battle in small map and it is actually quite painful - they all carried their own marker where the shooting range and accuracy is far more better then my house marker.

We played till evening and decided to call it for a day - went home with sweet smile :)

Sepang F1 Circuit Open Track Day - Race Day!

It was a sunny day, and it is just nice to go racing :)
I was just about to call Tougeking hope he would change his mind to come over,
but he was actually on his way to Sepang for the open track day!
What a respect to him, crusing all the way from Ipoh to Sepang and went back after that!
To be honest, I was a bit worry about my car condition because I did not send for service after 7000km of mileage. So I went and change my engine oil first because I can get the sponsored Red Line oil.

After changing oil, blasting all the way to Sepang:

Once I reached the roundabout to Sepang, I saw a group of Honda Integra Type R rushing to the circuit, so I just following them, and they lead me to the circuit:

Paid RM200 for 3 hours, and here come Sepang F1 circuit!

The circuit is hot but windy so I don't really feel dehydrated there. Once I reached the pit, I called Tuck and he told me all of them were in pit 28, what a nice number and I parked my car there, remove all the moving items plus the spare tyre:

There are more than 100 cars came today, and some were blocked from entering the circuit due to full slot - so demanding until full!

We all waiting for the green light patiently to go out for some fun!

Saw this beautiful Nissan GTR matte black, and this car is not just for showing off. She is real, real fast on the track. No wonder it is a Posche killer - it is!

Pit stop, where all the F1 cars used to stay, and I was here :)

Here my lovely Satria Neo entering the T2, thanks to Tougeking for showing me the way of entering every corner. My first session was slow due to first time entering the circuit, and Sepang is like a highway for me, especially both straight roads. My top speed is only 160km/h before entering T1.

Blasting the corner with Bridgestone Potenza RE001:

wooo.. I stucked in traffic jam!

T2 corner is not easy to take for a beginner like me, it is very easy to be understeer if you did not hit the apex. By looking at the photo I think I need to have adjustable suspension with me.

Cooling down the engine.. there was 1 moment it reached 150C degree and I think the gauge meter was giving wrong reading. Going to have it fixed soon.. but my car is hot, real hot!

After 5pm the circuit closed, we all headed to Dengkil for a killing dinner, then go back.

I really enjoy the fun of racing in a world class track, but too bad my car is not powerful enough and everytime was overtook by VTECs..

So here is the summary of Satria Neo in Sepang F1:
Cornering is very good, sharp and very easy to enter all corners correctly.
Gear ratio is sucks, 1st gear, 2nd gear is good but when changed to 3rd gear the power dropped.
Mid range speed is slow.. managed to enter T15 at 90km/h in 3rd gear but only can reach 160km/h 150m before T1.

Very good experience and my first time in Sepang F1!

Sepang F1 Circuit Open Track Day - Preparation

Sepang F1 circuit is having an open track day on this coming Sunday, and I am planning to pay it a visit, at least once a lifetime to enjoy a full throttle blast in a FIA certified F1 racing circuit. I have to admit it was not cheap: RM 200 per session which will let you race for about 2 hours.

Since my friends in Cari forum going as well, we will meet there at 1:3opm.
I was busy preparing my car just now, and if you noticed I have a nice stickers fill in my plain white Satria Neo - it is Red Line sponsored sticker. I will get discount from purchasing Red Line product in future :)

Went to Wai Heng exhaust - my usual exhaust mechanic to prepare for race setting.

Dinner at Japanese Restaurant

Timothy and I went to a Japanese restaurant in Sunway to have our dinner after we went and take Tim's absorber for servicing.

The place looks very nice and comfortable, but a bit crowded because it is Sunway :)

AAM KKS Autocross 2009 - Round 2

It was a sunny Sunday, and we are at Sepang F1 Circuit... Car Park for the second round of AAM KKS Autocross. It was suppose to be held in Penang but not sure why last minute they changed it to Sepang. I believe it is not published properly hence there are not many participants.

No matter how, they are still a bunch of autocross hardcore supporters!

This is Japan GT wide bodykit baby.

and we have the EVO legion, they rule the round 2 autocross this time by grabbing first and second fastest time of the day.

I don't know man, you judge it yourself!

Not a very good timing, due to first time driving FR car in autocross event, but I improved from 1:45 to 1:42 which is 3 secs after the lunch!

This is the track layout, actually I made 2 mistakes and I got DNF for A run 1 and B run 1, thanks god I managed to capture the time in run 2 for both A and B. The best timing is taken from your best run in A and B course.

To summarize it, I really appreciate Tim to let me drive his S15 and it was my second time driving the car. I learnt a lot today because I now can understand how FR car behave during cornering and breaking. It is a brand new experience to me! Being a car enthusiasts it is always excited to practise something that you know from the paper.

I'll be there again with my Satria Neo :)

Power Steering Hose Leaking...

It was last Sunday when Daniel gave me a morning call to touge in KL, genting sempah area. Wassup man if talk about touge needless to speak other than action to take! So I headed to batu cave all the way and after a short chat with Daniel and his another MR2 friend Yap plus a grey Satria Neo, we headed to sempah all the way and went Bentong till Genting half hill, where I found my steering was very heavy suddenly, and after a quick check my power steering hose was leaking like crazy. Luckily, with helps from Daniel and friends I was managed to fix it temporary, but the leaking went crazy again after I turn my steering for few times. There gone my touge session and I went back to my house with empty power steering fluids in the bump. Thanks god nothing happen to it after I replaced the hose. During reparing, I found the hose is actually defected at the head, and it caused the leaking.

I was waken up by Tougeking on the Sunday morning and he invited me for a ride to touge with Daniel's MR2 Turbo. It must be a great touge and TK taken me with his Franken 70. It was really fun when TK trying to chase the MR2. Powered by 270whp, the MR2 is really very fast on the straight line. Franken 70 is having a serious treat now...

Touge on 19th April with Tougeking + Friends

I got this last minute and I just managed to catch them in Simpang Pulai Shell petrol station. We have some visitors this time who coming from Penang > Tan V6, Chean, Jeffrey and Siang. Along in the group are the famous Tougeking (TK) with his Franken 70, Botak Ali and friends, Kev and two girls. I just realised this was the first time I touge with TK's Franken 70, and he is scary fast..lol However, during the touge the Kelisa went into drain, luckily all of them are ok, then we all laughing because the Kelisa looked like parking on top of the drain!

We continue our touge after the tow truck pulled the Kelisa out, and during the downhill session Tan V6 sit in my car and he gave me valuable tips for touge. It is really an eye opener for me because his explaination is awesome! FYI, TanV6 is a certified instructor and usually people pay him for his advice.. lol

After the touge we headed to Ipoh famous Icy Beer to chill out and enjoy our supper.

It was a great day unfortunately Manchester United was out of FA Cup final.
